🔍 Role Overview
As our Accounts Assistant & Payroll Specialist, you’ll be instrumental in supporting client accounts and managing payroll services across sectors. You’ll ensure compliance, accuracy, and timely delivery—bringing both technical rigor and professional grace to every transaction.
🧩 Key Responsibilities
- Run weekly and monthly payroll for multiple clients using Sage/Xero/IRIS
- Manage PAYE, pensions, and statutory deductions
- Assist with bookkeeping, VAT returns, and bank reconciliations
- Prepare client accounts and support year-end processes
- Liaise with HMRC and external auditors
- Contribute to workflow refinement and documentation within the practice
🎯 What You Bring
- Experience in payroll and accounts within a practice setting
- AAT Level 3 or equivalent (or working towards)
- Strong attention to detail and confidentiality
- Proficiency in accounting software and Excel
